Co-Lead Pastors’ Report
Twenty months into our journey as Co-Lead Pastors of Coventry Elim, we are deeply grateful for all that God has done in our church community as we have had the privilege of leading the church forward together. Over this time, we have seen more clearly the strength of leading collaboratively. In a world where separation and division are all too common, we remain committed to demonstrating a radically different way to live and lead, marked by unity, trust and shared purpose. Thank you for the overwhelming encouragement, prayer and support you have given us; it has been a genuine privilege to serve and lead alongside you.
Pastor Duncan writes:
Over this last year we’ve continued to witness spiritual, numerical and financial growth within our church community. The church-wide ‘Pulse Check’ survey that we conducted in January revealed something that we probablyalready knew; that Coventry Elim is full of people who love Jesus, seek to put Him first in their lives, who make the pursuit of His presence a priority and who regularly experience His presence when they meet together. One of the ‘stand out’ expressions of that desire to be a presence-led people was our recent ‘Presence Week’ where, morning and evening, in the stillness and in the celebration, we met with God together.
Alongside our spiritual growth, we continue to see numerical growth. For those who attend our Sunday services you will also be well aware of the ‘space’ problem that we have, which requires us to hire two rooms in the Ramada hotel for two of kids and youth work groups. During this last year we’ve had more than one thousand people (adults and children combined) attend our services on fourteen different Sundays. While our search for a new building to meet in has yet to come to fruition, we continue to trust the Lord’s timing and His provision. And this year has been a year of financial abundance with the giving of regular tithes and offerings reaching record levels. You will see from our financial report, that through your faithful and sacrificial giving, God has supplied all our needs. We thank Him for His provision and that this has been another year of all round healthy growth! An expression of our faithful financial giving and heart for mission can be witnessed through our support of Compassion over the last 10+ years. As a church community we now sponsor 225 children, many of those living in Ethiopia. The impact report that we shared at our recent ‘Compassion Sunday’ revealed that over the last twelve months we’ve given in excess of £92,000 to the work of Compassion. Wonderful!
During the course of the year, there are many gatherings, groups and special events that take place, and so it’s always difficult to pick out one highlight, but for me, one has to be our Christmas Carol service that we held at the Methodist Central Hall. It was so good to see that venue packed full of people ready to worship Jesus, and we look forward to doing the same again this December. And for me, another highlight has been the relaunch of our RAW men’s ministry. I have loved the opportunity to meet together with a growing group of guys who love to pray together, worship together and eat together. The high point came in the summer when we met for our ‘Forest Fire Night’ where we ate burgers and worshiped Jesus under the trees and around a campfire!
Shirene and I remain grateful for the faithful love and support we receive from our Eldership team. This autumn three of our existing Elders, Bashir Jimoh, Jeremy Hobday and Kunle Oyeneye, conclude their current five-year term of office and we’re pleased that they have made themselves available to serve again for another term. Our church partners will have the opportunity to submit their confirmatory vote in support of Bash, Jeremy and Kunle before our Annual General Meeting at the start of December.
Pastor Shirene writes:
As I write this, I’ve spent the day at Regents, Elim’s Bible college, teaching on the Pastoring and Preaching module. My subject title was ‘leading a multi-ethnic and multi-generational church’. Today I wasn’t just teaching theory. I was describing what we get to experience every week at Coventry Elim. Our church is a beautiful tapestryof every age, culture and background, woven together by Jesus into something more beautiful than any of us could have designed on our own. It reflects the great multitude John described in Revelation 7, from every nation, tribe, people, and language, gathered around the throne.
Throughout the week, life at Coventry Elim happens in every age and stage. Our children’s work, youth group, young adults, and our over 50s meet in rooms across our building. Each one is a place of friendship, worship and growing faith. What a joy and privilege to be part of what God is doing among us.
At the start of the year, we were delighted to welcome two new members to our staff team. Evangeline joined us as our Additional Needs Coordinator, helping make sure that every child and young person, whatever their needs, can belong and participatefully. Fi joined us as our Children’s Ministry Leader, bringing energy, creativity and a real heart for children and families. Both have settled in well, and we are so grateful to God for them and for the difference they are making.
This year, ROAR Women’s Conference continued to grow in our second year at Warwick Arts Centre, with 600 women gathering from across the country. One of the most special moments came when 50 women arrived carrying a gift for a woman they hadn’t yet met, trusting that God would show them who it was for. Watching them follow his prompting and seeing the faces of the women who received those gifts was a beautiful reminder that He is El Roi, the God who sees.
ROAR would not be possible without our incredible team of volunteers. From welcome and hospitality to tech, production and prayer, they give their time, energy and gifts so that hundreds of women can be refreshed and sent back into their communities with renewed faith. We could not do it without you, and we are so grateful.
As we reflect on this year, we are reminded once again what a privilege it is to serve you, the local church. To our staff team, eldership team, ministry team, management team and the army of volunteers who give so much of their time and energy, THANK YOU! Your faithfulness helps us live out our vision of being a ‘presence-led people’, and Coventry Elim would not be the church it is without you. We are also deeply grateful for the encouragement and support you continue to show us as we lead together. As we look ahead to 2027, we do so with expectation. This year, we have seen again that God is faithful, and we are honoured to walk into the future alongside all of you.
With love Pastor Duncan & Pastor Shirene
Executive Pastors’ Report
Gaz Hutchinson
As I look back over this past year, I'm filled with gratitude for the moments we've shared as a church family. We celebrated at our Baptism services, danced together at All Nations Sunday, went beyond the church walls for the Roar conference and Carols, and made room for our young people at the Youth Takeover. There have been so many special moments!
One of the real highlights for me was Presence Week. The new format gave us space for stillness and reflection, as we spent the mornings worshipping and waiting on the Lord together. It was a beautiful thing, and I look forward to more moments like this next year.
I want to say a huge thank you to every person who serves in our Worship, Production and Media teams. Your faithfulness week after week is what makes these gatherings possible. Whether you're mixing sound, playing an instrument, cueing lyrics, managing lighting or capturing moments on camera, you play a vital part in creating spaces where people can meet with God. We are so grateful for you!
I also want to honour Dan and Sam for the amazing way they lead and support these teams. They lead with vision, faith and excellence, and they carry the heart of a servant in all they do. I'm truly blessed to serve alongside them.
This year we also said goodbye to some who served alongside us: Aymee and Liz, who were part of our internship programme, and Léna, who served on staff leading our media team. It has been a joy to watch each of them grow in their gifting. We are grateful for all they have contributed to our community, and we pray God's continued blessing on their lives as they step into this new season.
As well as supporting our worship and production staff and teams, I have the privilege of leading our management team, and I want to take this opportunity to thank them publicly. Their role is often unseen, but we are so grateful for the way they steward our building and finances.
Finally, I want to say a personal thank you to our church leadership and staff. In June, my mum went to be with Jesus after a short battle with cancer. Through it all, the love, prayers and practical support of our leadership, staff and wider church family have been so important to me and have made a difficult season a little easier to navigate, and I will always be grateful. It has been a reminder of what it means to be family, and I don't take it for granted.

Youth Pastors’ Report
Daniel Duncan
This year, the Lord has been profoundly faithful in His work among us at Coventry Elim Youth. As a team and as a ministry, we can truly say that God has exceeded all of our expectations. There has been a remarkable cultural shift, one that can only be attributed to the Holy Spirit, marked by deeper intimacy both with one another and with the Lord Himself. Our new motto, “One Way, One Lord, One Another,” has become more than words; it has shaped our identity. We have sought to cultivate a genuine culture of discipleship, where young people move beyond attendance to apprenticeship, learning to live, act, and love like Jesus. Our desire is to see a generation that is “all in” for Him. Equally, we’ve placed great emphasis on “One Another”, fostering the kind of authentic community described in Acts 2:42, where joy, prayer, laughter, and deep fellowship define our relationships.
Two key moments stand out this year. In March, over 60 young people attended our sleepover weekend, ‘The Narrow Way’, a time where many chose to take a firm stand in following Jesus. It was a weekend of fun, friendship, and spiritual awakening. Then, in August, Limitless Festival 2025 became a milestone for us. With 50 young people and 11 leaders attending, we witnessed an outpouring of the Holy Spirit, young people encountering God in life-changing ways: speaking in tongues, finding freedom from addictions, and fully surrendering their lives to Christ. The family unity and love that blossomed among our group became a testimony in itself, noticed and admired by others at the Festival.
Following the festival, the Lord began a fresh and profound work in our midst. This new season led to a redefinition of who we are as a ministry and the birth of our new name, ‘Coventry Elim Youth (CEY)’. As a team, we have carried a phrase in our hearts: “We are going somewhere.” It reflects our shared conviction that God is leading us on a specific journey, and we are moving in step with Him and one another. Since the summer, our weekly gatherings have averaged around 70 young people, with many new attendees, some whom are exploring faith for the first time. We’ve introduced three new ministry rhythms that have greatly enriched our community:
• Family Conversations: Evenings spent gathered around tables discussing faith, life, and questions that matter to our young people.
• Bible Study Nights: Monthly sessions where small groups dive deeply into Scripture together.
• Draw Near Nights: Dedicated evenings of worship, prayer, and reflection, set apart to encounter God’s presence.
We’ve also seen incredible growth in service and gifting. Many young people have stepped into roles in worship, both within CEY and in wider church contexts. Some are leading Christian Unions in their schools, while others are representing their faith at city-wide youth events, whether playing in the band or giving input into the event itself.
Above all, we give thanks to God for His grace and favour over this ministry. None of this would be possible apart from Him. I am so deeply grateful for our dedicated team of 20 volunteers, faithful servants and friends who pour their hearts into every young person they encounter. I count it a true honour to serve alongside them and to lead such an extraordinary ministry. The future is bright, our hearts are full, and we are confident of this one truth: We are going somewhere.

Operations Director report
A third year has gone by so fast, and I am grateful to God for the many services and events that we have been able to facilitate here at the Elim building. I would like to give thanks to staff and volunteers for their tireless work setting up and tidying up for meetings throughout the year.
I would like to thank Ivan and Iris Williams for their many years of service to God and the fellowship caring for the lawns and borders and keeping the outside of the building looking so good. I am grateful to Stacha Ciza who has picked up the work of cutting the lawns and caring for the borders.
The last two months saw the second phase of gutter repairs, this time on the upper level. Repairs to the brickwork on the roof was also necessary which meant there was significant cost for these essential repairs. As a result, the brickwork at the front of the building is recovering and I have been able to reinstate the lighting around and on top of the building.
We continue to try and seal the upper part of the roof which suffered during the prolonged hot dry weather. We intend to do something a little more significant to stop the drips in the main encounter room next summer, but for now we have made good progress identifying the issues.
Increasing our living space: We continue to wait on God for a clear lead in finding a larger space to move into. I would encourage everyone to continue Praying and to bring offerings into the STOREHOUSE fund so that we will be prepared to establish ourselves in the new larger space that God will provide for us.

Elders report
Kunle Oyeneye
Brothers and sisters in the Lord, on behalf of the elders, I am honoured to present this report on the activities and progress of His church over the past year. Serving as part of the leadership team is both a great privilege and a humbling experience. Above all, we give glory to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, who is the head of this Church and the foundation of all we do.
Over the last 12 months, we have witnessed the faithfulness of God upon this house. The growing hunger for the Lord has resulted in remarkable spiritual and numerical growth within our church community. It is evident that those who keep coming are not drawn by any individual, but by a deep longing for the presence of God, which we continue to experience time and time again. We have seen clear evidence of God’s power, healings, deliverances, and His constant provision, including financial blessings that have sustained and advanced the work of the ministry.
It is a true privilege to serve alongside such a dedicated, humble, and Spirit-led team of pastors. We thank God for blessing us with leaders who faithfully serve, follow, and lead in advancing His Kingdom. We also extend heartfelt appreciation to all our staff, the children’s, youth, worship and other departments, for their creativity, commitment, and love for the work they carry out here at Coventry Elim. Your efforts are making a lasting impact.
We are deeply grateful for the unwavering generosity of our congregation. Over the years, our tithes and offerings have been extraordinary, enabling us to strengthen our ministries and extend our outreach to touch even more lives. Your faithfulness is evident in projects such as the Boda-Boda initiative and our partnership with Compassion UK, fulfilling the commandment to love our neighbours as ourselves.
Our youth groups have been actively engaged in activities that foster fellowship, growth, and service. The children’s ministry continues to flourish, creating a vibrant environment where our youngest members can play, pray, learn God’s Word, and lift their voices in praise. These programs are nurturing spiritual development and building a strong sense of community across all generations.
We rejoice over the testimonies shared both publicly and privately among our members, powerful reminders of God’s faithfulness. We give Him all the glory for the marvelous things He is doing in the lives of men, women, youth, and children across our congregation.
As I close, we give thanks to God for His unfailing love and to each of you for your prayers, service, and generosity. Together, we have seen His hand at work in powerful ways, and we believe He is leading us into an even greater season of fruitfulness. Let us continue to walk in unity and faith, shining His light in Coventry and beyond. May His Spirit guide us, His grace sustain us, and His name be glorified in all we do. The best is yet to come, let us press on with faith-filled expectation and courageous hearts. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Soar Students & Young Adults
Tiana Osakwe
A question I regularly ask myself as I pray for our students and young adults is: God, what concerns your heart for us and what should we do about it? It is safe to say He has spoken to us a great deal, and I am overwhelmed with gratitude as I reflect on all God has done amongst the SOAR community this past year!
SOAR continues to serve young adults and students within our community at a variety of pivotal life stages. From new university students and recent graduates, to parents and working professionals. One of my favourite things about the SOAR community is our sense of unity. We are not separated by the different stages of life we are walking, we are united by our shared pursuit of Jesus.
This year in particular, we have welcomed in young adults who have ‘graduated’ from Coventry Elim Youth and many who are new to faith. It has warmed my heart to see 11 members of the SOAR family be baptised at Coventry Elim this year! What has been amazing is seeing how members of the community have supported and encouraged them with such love.
At our weekly Monday night Bible Study sessions, we have explored foundational themes in our faith by walking through books such as Ephesians, Ruth and Ecclesiastes. It’s been incredible to see the growth of this weekly fellowship, to the point that we have outgrown our usual meeting space of the Upper Room as we welcome 40-50 people each Monday.
At SOAR Nights (now named SOAR Collective) 80-90 of us have gathered monthly for teaching and equipping on real and relevant topics, such as how to navigate being in the world but not of it, relationships and more. We’ve been blessed to have our Pastors and Elders join us to contribute to this teaching in powerful ways throughout the year.
This year, two members of the SOAR team, Jess and Lauren, pioneered SOAR Creatives in response to a recurring conversation about how we nurture the creative gifts God has given us. Across the year, four gatherings took place which equipped us to spark and steward our creative gifts, with guest speakers and activities, culminating with the development of a short film which highlighted the creative gifts within the community.
To close off the academic year in Term 3, we headed off-site for our SOAR Summer Social once again, where we celebrated God’s goodness throughout the year over food and more. We waved goodbye to the students who were leaving the city following graduation, and we also handed out various awards acknowledging the ways people make SOAR what it is.
A personal highlight has been seeing our young adults and students grow in their hunger for God and their desire to be a part of a community which supports their walk. We have been blessed to see the relationships within SOAR extend beyond the walls of the church, with deep friendships blossoming and discipleship relationships forming. More of the community are also serving in the wider church from kids and youth to production and worship.
This year I have also been invited to speak at various events for students beyond Coventry Elim, such as at Warwick University Christian Union. This has been a wonderful way to pour into students in our city, and see what God is doing around Coventry.
I am so grateful to God for those who volunteer on the SOAR team, not just for what they pour out in the practical but for their work in the spiritual! Their individual experiences and giftings are incredibly special. As we look to the year I am excited and expectant for all God will lead us into.

Limitless Kids report
Emma Bacon
Over this past year we have mainly been following the teaching of adult church, incorporating the same themes and topics but in a way that is relatable and understandable to them. This past year we have seen a real hunger and inquisitiveness in our children for the things of God and their questions and discussions this year have deepened and matured. One thing I have also realised over this past year is that there have been no warm ups. In previous years when doing events such as holiday club or Camp, we have had to break through spiritually and lead the kids to a place of encounter. This year I feel there has been more of an overflow and continuation of what they have learnt on Sundays into these events and the spirit of God has moved so beautifully but yet powerfully within. This year our Limitless kids vision for children and team has been: Worship is our posture. Prayer is our response. The Bible is our sword. Love is our Foundation.
Midweek groups
This year we joined year 1-6 together for life group! We saw real benefit in this, seeing the older children being a role model for the younger children. However we did notice that it was more difficult to go deeper with the older children who were ready for this, due to the younger children being present. This term we have gone back to alternating year 5&6 and year 1-4 life group instead to allow that space!
On the alternate week to life group, this past year we have been running our football ministry called Goalz. This has been a great space for our children to engage in something they love, whilst learning biblical values in their play and joining together in prayer and devotion.
Ignite Camp
We ran our 2nd year of Ignite Camp in July, taking 42 children over to Alfrey activity centre. The presence of God was so strong throughout the whole weekend and Joy just overflowed amongst every child and team member. But the word I would describe for this years IGNITE is togetherness. Not 1 person or child was seen to be left out, no matter their need! If someone was on their own, you would so beautifully see children going over to them asking if they wanted to play. The reflection of Family was so strong amongst children and team. This year we had 6 children with Autism attend. 2 of these children stayed for the whole weekend and the other 4 came on Saturday with 1-1 support! For some of these children, we thought they would only cope for part day, but God showed up and each child stayed for the whole day, joining in with not just activities but worship and Gods word! Each morning at Camp we had 7am Devotions. To which we saw 24 children show up, our of their own choice to pray and read Gods word, this to me really showed the position of our kids hearts for God as I saw them run to the chapel saying “Quick we are going to be late”. We pray for more of this!
Holiday Club
In April we held our annual holiday club where we saw around 150 children come into church from the community and our church family. And it was amazing! The theme this year was game changers. We looked at 4 topics: Do you know Jesus?, Connect 2 Jesus, Let go and let God and Go tell others about Jesus. This years holiday club released a desire in our children to hear the voice of God. On the first day of holiday club a spontaneous moment saw children coming up to share what God has spoken to them took place. This was not planned but was so significant to what God was doing! This followed through into the rest of the week and became our posture for the rest of the year. This year at holiday club we saw more children with autism attend. Throughout the week we supported 10 children on a 1-1 basis which we are so thankful to God by for, providing amazing people to help facilitate this for those children! Praise God.
I want to end my report by saying a massive thank you to the Limitless Kids team for all they have poured into every Sunday, every event, but most importantly every child. Limitless Kids could not run and be what it is without them so faithfully serving in the ways they do. Thank you.

Additional Needs Report
for youth and kids.
This year we celebrated the 10th Year of our additional needs ministry. There was so much joy in the churchas testimonies were shared of Gods goodness and faithfulness in so many kids and families lives! We are so thankful that Elim Coventry is a place of Belonging for so many families and that we get to witness the hand of God in their lives and how this is celebrated through the whole church community. Currently we are supporting 19 children in kids work who all have a diagnosis of autism.
We have an incredible additional needs team who support these children each week, however due to space we are still continuing our weekly sign ups for Sundays in this ministry. In youth there are currently 15 young people who have an additional need. These young people do not consistently come on a Wednesday but are very much a part of our church family on Sundays and during connect+! Belong Conference also took place this year, seeing many churches from across the UK coming in to learn how to make their church accessible to all children and young people. The reminder and focus for Belong this year was that we are not trying to just build a ministry to say we have an additional needs ministry, we are looking at the individual child and building around them! And thats our heart at Elim Coventry to see every child no matter their need.
This past year Its been so beautiful to not only see these children supported and grow through kids and youth but also to witness them beginning to serve in the church. This year 1 boy served on the worship team at Belong and also now serves as a young leader in Limitless kids! We pray for more of this to come moving into a new year! We pray for more of our kids and young people to step into the gifts which God has placed in them and see that released into our church community as God Continues to work in and through them!
